On Success and Burning Bridges…

As my grey hairs multiply, I have come to understand the link between our success and the decisions we make in our lives.

I value relationships and so I used to think bridges should never be burned. Today, I realise that progress requires that we must cross some bridges and we must burn some. We must seize some opportunities and we must do away with some acts and relationships.

Sometimes our success is slowed down, not by the things we haven’t achieved but by the things we haven’t let go of. We need to let go of draining activities like worrying that reduce our mental well-being, other times it’s about letting go of energy-sapping environments and relationships that steal our joy.

What is holding you back? What bridge do you need to cross or perhaps burn?

Deciding which bridge to cross and which to burn requires wisdom and is necessary for our long term success.
