A few people have asked me what a CEO dashboard looks like. Do note that dashboards are useful for any role including your personal life. Once you determine the metrics you want to track, a dashboard depicts it graphically.
Just like your car dashboard, it is easy to see what is going well and what needs your attention.
Designing a dashboard is easy to do in
Microsoft Excel. You however need to have clean data ready, as metrics rely on databases.
Also, metrics are usually the computation of two data sets e.g. an often used productivity measure is Revenue per Employee. To compute that, you need monthly revenue data and number of staff data. The formula is Revenue ÷ Number of staff.
You can colour code dashboards to help identify progress as well as problem areas.
Dashboards, make performance easier to manage.
Implement a dashboard and thank me later.
Your thoughts?
Ps: I got this sample dashboard off the internet
