Why People with Depression Don’t Talk

Isn’t it obvious why people with depression don’t talk? How many people listen? Who wants to talk and have their feelings downplayed?

Asides your immediate family, if you are lucky, most people do not care, they are caught up in their own issues.

If you really want to help, listen, pay attention, and don’t start giving people 1001 ways how they can overcome it. If it was that easy and they were coping they wouldn’t be depressed. Listen a lot, ask questions that allow them uncover their reality and the realistic options available to them. A lot of times, pressure is perceived and exaggerated and not as real or as serious as it is made to seem. Give advise if asked or only after they have exhausted the solutions they have.
